Lakawon Island is a 16-hectare, banana-shaped island in Cadiz City in the province of Negros Occidental. It is also home to the Philippines' biggest floating bar known as TawHai. To go to Lakawon, you can take a bus at the Bacolod North Bus Terminal going to Cadiz and your drop off point will be Martesan tricycle terminal. From your drop off point, take a tricycle that will take you to Cadiz Viejo where the port is. From the port in Cadiz Viejo, you have to take a pumpboat to reach the island. The fair actually is not that expensive and I suggest bring your own food because there's not much to choose from in their restaurant. You just have to pay for corkage. If you want to experience the fun of the floating bar, that's another 250 pesos for the entrance.
I am a beach lover and if I were to take a vacation or if I were to travel and the choices are cities or beaches, I'd choose the one which involves beaches in a heartbeat. Lakawon, I tell you is one beach in the Philippines that you should visit. The chill vibe, the clear waters, the white sand beach are some of the reasons why this island is a perfect spot for relaxation. (See my photos below)
